Monday Garden Club

I've been dying to share my CSA box as part of the Monday Garden Club meme.  Unfortunately, the box comes on Tuesday night.  And I usually forget to photograph what I have to share.  Well, last week, Tuesday, I REMEMBERED!

Napa cabbage I believe, and summer squash, patty pan squash peeking from under the beet greens.

Some multi-colored Swiss chard.  I will chop these up and saute with onion and garlic, to freeze and use in a quiche recipe.

Green and yellow beans.  Very tasty, and so fresh.

Beets, summer and patty pan squash.

Cucumbers, yellow and green zucchini.

So I tried Aliceson's recipe for veggies and pasta, using mild bulk Italian sausage, canned tomatoes, and garlic from the store, but still, it is tasty.

So, enjoy.  If you can't grow your fresh produce, I highly encourage looking into community supported agriculture (CSA).  Someone can grow it for you and you can enjoy the benefits of really fresh and local produce.  We lucked out, because our health insurance rewards us for buying a share.  $100 worth of reward.  That's pretty awesome.  Happy gardening.

What a great option if you can't grow your own!

I want your health insurance plan! Ours just changed and I sat on the phone with them all last week about authorizing my husband's prescription. What a run-around!

That is awesome that your insurance helps pay for your CSA.
